Services Set for Editor at D.C. Station

Chris Houston, 42, “Managed Our News Desk”

Assignment editor Chris Houston of WUSA-TV in Washington died Saturday of pancreatic cancer, the station announced over the weekend.

“Chris was a key player in our newsroom and one of the most valuable members of the 9NEWS Team,” WUSA said on its Web site.

“He managed our news desk, keeping an ear on what was happening around our city, running-down newstips and getting our reporters and photographers to the scene – first.

“Often, Chris was also the conscience of our newsroom — never letting us lose sight of the importance of fair and balanced reporting.”

Services are scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Beltway Church of Christ, Camp Springs, Md., (301) 423-2320.
