Human Rights, Their Essence and the Truth in Relation to Cuba as the Villain of Such Rights.

The communist regime of Cuba loves to play with the notion and convince international public opinion that it is a victim of human rights violations, when the reality is that it is the victimizer. Since the communist regime was established on the island by force in 1959, and up until today, the people of Cuba have seen how their most basic civil and human rights have been restricted and violated.
There are many accounts from those who have suffered in cruel political prisons for demanding that their rights be complied with and respected: political activists of the opposition, independent journalists who tell the true political reality on the island, repression of all types of opposition to the regime. No free expression is allowed, the media in the hands of the government play the role of
spokespersons for the regime and not true communicators of society.
Human rights in relation to Cuba are the subject of controversies and debates given that the island was a founder and a signatory of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights < https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights>, which contains a clause denoting the fundamental rights, duties and guarantees of Cubans. The country signed, although it has not ratified, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which shows, as usual, the two-faced cynicism of the regime.
The opinion of civil society regarding compliance with human rights is divided. There are those who defend the current communist dictatorship and say that those rights are not violated in Cuba. The political opposition claims that such rights are violated.
For its part, the regime argues that there are no homeless people, that there are schools for all children, a free and efficient health system where everyone has the same rights, that there is no exploitation of workers, nor slavery among others. I seem to be reading an excellent screenplay for a science fiction film for an Academy Award that has no other competition in that category!
The truth is that the opponents and other members of civil society reaffirm that there are violations of the Magna Carta. Lázaro Mendoza, former political prisoner of mixed race, explains that it is of no use that you “fulfill” or “abide by” one or two articles while violating one of the most basic ones such as freedom of expression.
Since all the media belong to the dictatorship, everything that is published and disseminated responds to its interests. The majority of those serving political prison terms, such as opposition activists and independent journalists, are there for the simple reason of thinking, forming and expressing opinions, and publishing against the communist regime.
Andrés Avelino Beltrán, another opposition member of FACOZT (Frente de Acción Cívica Orlando Zapata Tamayo), a mestizo, states that he has served two long sentences behind bars along with other citizens for exercising their right to peacefully protest in the streets. And due to his rebellious attitude he has been discriminated against and cast aside by those who do not think the same way. Society rejects him and people like him have no chance of a prosperous life while the regime exists.
At the end of his statement, he adds that it is no secret to anyone that there is opposition in Cuba organized by many movements such as Las Damas de Blanco (the Ladies in White), FANTU, UMPCU and independent journalists who have no right to freedom of expression. Those that dare do so risk being beaten and jailed for long prison terms like in the Black Spring of 2003. The Black Spring’s ghost is reincarnated in the regime’s repression wreaking great havoc today.
Likewise, the majority of those who stood up and protested in the outbreak on the streets on July 11, 2021, have been unfairly sentenced to long prison terms, as have independent journalists who informed about the protests on social media.
It is a shame and an embarrassment that Cuba has been a signatory of human rights and today is one of the worst regimes that violate them. It is of no use that the communist regime “comply” with one or two articles while not respecting the most basic ones.
There is an Arabic proverb that says; that the snake before the bite enchants the victim. The regime of Havana exercises a diabolical enchantment over those people who visit the island with the
objective of observing and ensuring compliance with human rights.
Such people, upon leaving Cuba, become defenders of the “wonderful things that exist on the island”, become accomplices and spokespersons for the regime. They have sweetened the pill with lies, guided them to see what they want them to see in staged scenarios while the truth is hidden behind the scenes. They deceived them, if indeed they are deceived.
These defenders do not visit the relatives of political prisoners, they do not visit the jails where the political prisoners are repressed, where officials are violating their rights to phone calls, to decent food, health care and family visits.
This is the true reality of human rights in Cuba. American journalists visiting the island should interact with real civil society and not what the regime shows them. This way they will see the reality of the regime.
It is also a fact that the internet is controlled by the government apparatus and sometimes we, human rights political opposition activists and independent journalists, have been deprived
of such rights. This is the reality that they must know and publish about the violations of the most basic human rights on the island. I may be with you at the Roundtable tomorrow or I may not. It depends on the government’s control that its repressive apparatus wields on social networks of independent journalists.

A postscript on life for independent journalists in Cuba:
Today in Cuba, the situation of many independent journalists among whom I am, is unsustainable to maintain, we lack food, medicine and jobs in addition to journalism with which we can support ourselves, if for the simple Cuban of civil society who supporting the regime is difficult, imagine the situation of independent and opposition journalists, in some cases the family supports them and supports them as much as they can, in other cases there is no applause because they are divided and do not support the opposition family member, it is very hard and unsustainable. situation of some independent journalists, in which I include myself, in addition to that. We are followed by the political police, they threaten us with long prison sentences if we do not abandon journalism, yet we continue writing and publishing the abuses and violations of the regime.

“In accordance with the Constitution, Legal Decree 370, specifically Article 68, Subsection i), vaguely establishes as a violation the act of “spreading information contrary to the common good, morals, decency, and integrity through public data transmission networks.” This clause contravenes the standards of freedom of expression and restricts this right based on objectives that are illegitimate according to the International Declaration of Human Rights”.
The government often uses this law to punish critics, protesters, and journalists.

El régimen comunista de Cuba, le encanta jugar y convencer internacionalmente a la opinión publica de que es víctima de violaciones de los derechos humanos, cuando la verdadera realidad es que su rol es el de victimaria.
Desde que en la isla se implanto por la fuerza el régimen comunista en 1959, hasta la fecha, la población cubana, ha visto como sus mas elementales derechos civiles y humamos, han sido restringidos y violados.
Muchos son los testimonios de quienes han sufrido crueles cárceles políticas por exigir el cumplimiento y respeto a sus derechos, activistas políticos opositores, periodistas independientes informadores de la verdadera realidad existente políticamente en la isla, represión a todo tipo de oposición al régimen. No se permite la libre expresión, los medios de difucion en las manos del gobierno cumplen el papel de voceros del régimen y no el de verdaderos comunicadores de la sociedad.
Los Derechos Humanos en relación con Cuba son objeto de controversias y debates, ya que la Isla fue fundadora y signataria de la Declaración Universal. La cual contiene una cláusula que denota los derechos fundamentales, deberes y garantías de los cubanos. El país firmo, aunque no ha ratificado el Pacto Internacional de Derechos Civiles y Políticos y el Pacto Internacional de Derechos Económicos, Sociales y Culturales, !como de costumbre, la doble cara y cinismo del régimen.
La opinión de la sociedad civil con el cumplimiento de los Derechos Humanos se encuentra dividida.
Están los que defienden la actual dictadura comunista y expresan que en Cuba no se violan tales derechos. Y la oposición política que afirman que si se violan tales Derechos. “Por su parte el régimen argumenta que no existen desamparados, que hay escuelas para todos los niños, un sistema de salud gratuito y eficiente donde todos tienen los mismos derechos, que no existe la explotación a los trabajadores, ni la esclavitud entre otros".!me parece estar leyendo un excelente guión, para un filme de ciencia ficción sin competencia para un premio Oscar de la academia en esa categoria!
La verdad es que los opositores y otros miembros de la sociedad civil reafirman que si existen violaciones de la Carta Magna, ejemplos; Lázaro Mendoza ex preso político de la raza mestiza explica que de nada vale que "cumplas" con uno o dos artículos y violen uno de los más elementales como la libertad de expresión.
Ya que todos los medios de difusión pertenecen a la dictadura y todo lo que se publica y difunde responde a sus intereses. La mayoría de los que cumplen prisión política, como activistas opositores y periodistas independientes, es por la simple razon de pensar, opinar y publicar en contra del régimen comunista.
Andrés Avelino Beltrán otro opositor miembro del FACOZT y mestizo (Frente de Acción Cívica Orlando Zapata Tamayo), expresa que él ha cumplido dos largas condenas junto a otros ciudadanos por ejercer su derecho a protestar pacíficamente en las calles. Y debido a su actitud contestataria ha sido discriminado y desechado por los que no piensan de igual forma, la sociedad lo rechaza, que para personas como el no hay oportunidad de una vida prospera mientras el régimen respire.
Al término de su testimonio añade, que para nadie es un secreto que en Cuba existe una oposición organizada por muchos movimientos como las Damas de Blanco, FANTU, UMPCU y un periodismo independiente que no tiene ningún derecho a ejercerse libremente. Los que se atreven corren el riezgo de ser golpeados y encarcelados a largas condenas como sucedió en la primavera negra del 2003, ese fantasma en la actualidad a reencarnado en los represores del regimen realizando grandes estragos.Igualmente la mayoría de los que se levantaron a protestar en el estallido del 11 de julio, del año pasado han sido condenados injustamente a largas condenas al igual que los periodistas independientes que publicaron en las redes sociales las protestas.
Es una pena y verguenza que Cuba haya sido signataria y firmante de los Derechos Humanos. Y hoy en dia es uno de los peores regimenes que los violan. De nada le bale al regimen comunista "cumplir" uno o dos artículos, sin tener en cuenta los más elementales.
Existe un proverbio árabe que dice; que la serpiente antes de la mordida encanta a la víctima. El régimen de la Habana ejerce un encantamiento diabólico sobre aquellas personas que visitan la isla, con el objetivo de observar y velar por el cumplimiento de los derechos humanos.
Tales personas al salir de Cuba se convierten en defensores de las “maravillosa existentes en la isla” en otras palabras, cómplices y voceros del régimen. Quien les ha dorado la píldora con mentiras, los han guiados y llevado a escenarios montados, cuando la verdad se la esconden tras bambalinas, los engañaron, si es que el realidad son engañados. Estos defensores no visitan a los familiares de los presos políticos, no visitan las cárceles donde los presos políticos son cruelmente reprimidos, les violan sus derechos a las llamadas telefónicas, a una buena alimentación, asistencia medica y también las visitas familiares.
Esta es la verdadera realidad de los derechos humanos en Cuba, a los periodistas norteamericanos al visitar la isla deberían interactuar con la verdadera sociedad civil y no la que el régimen les muestra, de esta manera verán la realidad del régimen.
También es un hecho que la internet es controlada por el aparato gubernamental y en ocaciones los activistas opositores politicos de derechos humanos y periodistas independientes, hemos sido privados de tales derechos. Esta es la realidad que deben conocer y publicar acerca de las violaciones a a los mas elementales derechos humanos en la isla, puede que mañana este con ustedes en la mesa y puede que no, depende del control gubernamental que ejerce el aparato represivo de las redes sociales de los periodistas independientes, un saludo y éxito a todos.
Una posdata sobre la vida para los periodistas independientes en Cuba:
Hoy en día en Cuba, la situación de muchos periodistas independientes entre los que me encuentro, es insostenible de mantener, tenemos carencia de alimentos, medicinas y trabajos además del periodismo con el que podamos mantenernos, si para el simple cubano de la sociedad civil que apoya al régimen es dificil, imagínese la situación de los periodistas independientes y opositores, en algunos casos la familia los apoyan y le sustentan lo que pueden, en otras ovaciones nada porque esta divididos y no apoyan al familiar opositor, es bien dura he insostenible la situación de algunos periodistas independientes, en los que me incluyo, además de eso. Tenemos seguimiento de la policía política, nos amenazan con largas condenas a prisión si no abandonamos el periodismo, así y todo seguimos escribiendo y publicando los abusos y violaciones del régimen.
